Richard Coventry

Richard is deeply committed to continuing professional development. He recently completed a year-long Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Implants (January 2025) and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Oral Surgery (University of Central Lancashire, 2022), a Postgraduate Diploma in Prosthodontics (UCLan, 2019), and a Certificate in Periodontal Surgery with PerioAcademy (2021). He also holds an Enhanced Skill Domiciliary Care Practitioners Certificate (2019), supporting improved dental care for patients in local care homes, and completed an 18-month Diploma in Dental Sedation at Newcastle University (2016).

Richard’s current clinical focus is on delivering high-quality dental implant treatments. He believes implants are the gold standard for replacing missing teeth, helping patients to eat more comfortably, preserve their remaining teeth, and restore confidence with natural-looking results.

He is a member of the British Dental Association and the British Society of Occlusal Studies (BSOS), and has served on the BSOS committee since 2022. Passionate about giving back, Richard volunteers with the Diamond Smiles Foundation in Edinburgh and has previously provided dental care in Cambodia, Peru, and Uganda, supporting underserved communities.

Outside of dentistry, Richard enjoys an active lifestyle, with interests including hillwalking and CrossFit.

Sam Gray

Sam graduated from the University of Glasgow in summer 2025 and brings a strong commitment to patient care, a keen interest in NHS dentistry, and excellent communication skills to the practice. He
has gained varied experience across a range of dental settings, including hospital and community- based practices, giving him a well-rounded clinical foundation.

Since September, Sam has assumed the care of some of our existing patients and has also been welcoming new patients to the practice. This has helped to improve appointment availability and allows Richard to focus more fully on providing dental sedation and implant treatments.

Sam has quickly become a valued member of our team, and we are confident that patients will appreciate his friendly manner, professional approach, and dedication to delivering high-quality dentistry.
Outside of dentistry, Sam is a talented musician and enjoys fishing, wild camping, and long walks in nature.

Heather Coventry

Heather graduated in 2007. She has also worked across the UK, across all the dental work sectors. She is presently a clinical lecturer in children’s dentistry at Newcastle University. She finished a PhD in 2022. She provides locum cover when needed.
